Seguin Art League’s Paint Out
8:30 a.m. – 104 South Austin Street
Artists meet at the Seguin Art League’s building in downtown Seguin and then spread out over downtown Seguin to paint land marks and scenes from downtown. Artists will turn in their artwork between 4:00 and 4:30 that afternoon. The artwork will be judged and sold at the Park Plaza Hotel Seguin on Saturday.
Tour Sebastopol House
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – 704 Zorn Street
Seguin was once known as “The Concrete City” for constructing many buildings out of one of the first forms of concrete using limestone. This 1856 Greek Revival mansion is one of the country’s best preserved examples of 19th-century experimentation with concrete construction. Exhibits show the technology used by skilled slaves to build this remarkable house in the years before the Civil War. New exhibits display rare and highly collectible pottery from the Wilson Pottery Foundation. Visit and learn all the rich history. Tours begin every hour on the hour with FREE Admission!
Go Nuts at the Seguin Public Library
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – 313 West Nolte Street
Be sure to stop by the Seguin Public Library and discover why the locals have gone NUTS over this spectacular new addition to Seguin. Take a tour of the library and discover all the unique features that make the building so inspiring or just sit, relax and enjoy the views. Several furniture pieces and accent walls were created with pecan trees from the site of the library.
9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. – First United Methodist Church, 710 North Austin Street
Take part of a beloved fall tradition and visit the pumpkin patch filled with lots of family activities and photo opportunities. This is the 21st year of making memories with pumpkins and the people of Seguin and beyond.
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Downtown Seguin, 201 South Austin Street
Stroll through downtown to view over twenty scarecrows in our downtown merchants. This annual tradition is a competition between the downtown merchants to be named the best scarecrow. The competition pays homage to Seguin’s agricultural roots when the scarecrows served a greater purpose than decoration.
Wine Tasting at Blue Lotus Winery and Texas Mead Works
12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Blue Lotus Winery, 5151 FM 20
Enjoy delicious tastes of Texas wines and meads (honey wines) made right here in Seguin. The winery has a wide selection of dry, semi-sweet, and sweet wines to choose from for tastings. Stop by to enjoy the afternoon with some of the greatest views around. Tickets for the tasting is $7.00 and can be purchased at the door.
Cowboy Jack’s Haunted Trail
5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Seguin Outdoor Learning Center, 1865 East Highway 90
Cowboy Jack is a haunting tale about a 1937 Dude Ranch where many unusual events have taken place in the woods. The saga continues with scenes unfolding along the trail including Cowboy Jack, his sister Jill, their wicked Granny, and Zombie Dudes along with new spine tingling characters being added. There will be a 6:30 dusk hour for families. Ticket are available at the gate and are $15 for adults and $8 for children 12 years and under, cash only. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pecan Fest Pub Crawl
6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – Downtown Seguin, 201 South Austin
Meet up with your friends in Central Park and check in at the registration site to get your Pecan Fest Pub Crawl pass. Visit all the bars on the pass to get special pecan inspired drinks and special drink prices for participants of the pub crawl. After visiting all the bars, come back to Central Park to turn in your pass for a special prize. To participate in the pub crawl is free, but registration is encouraged as prizes will be available only to those who registered. Register for the pub crawl here.
