Seguin was once known as “The Concrete City” for constructing many buildings out of one of the first forms of concrete using limestone. This 1856 Greek Revival mansion is one of the country’s best preserved examples of 19th-century experimentation with concrete construction. Exhibits show the technology used by skilled slaves to build this remarkable house in the years before the Civil War. New exhibits display rare and highly collectible pottery from the Wilson Pottery Foundation. Visit and learn all the rich history. Tours begin every hour on the hour with FREE Admission!

Seguin Art League’s Paint Out
9:30 a.m. – 104 South Austin Street
Artists meet at the Seguin Art League’s building in downtown Seguin and then spread out over downtown Seguin to paint land marks and scenes from downtown. Artists will turn in their artwork by 6:00 p.m. The artwork will be judged and sold at the Park Plaza Hotel Seguin on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, click here.
29th Annual Juan Seguin Celebration of Life

Join the Seguin family in celebrating the life of a Texas Legend A True Texas Hero Juan N. Seguin. Guest speaker Dr. Carolina Crimm. No admission and open to the general public.
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Downtown Seguin, 201 South Austin Street
Stroll through downtown to view over twenty scarecrows in our downtown merchants. This annual tradition is a competition between the downtown merchants to be named the best scarecrow. The competition pays homage to Seguin’s agricultural roots when the scarecrows served a greater purpose than decoration.
Wine Tasting at Blue Lotus Winery and Texas Mead Works
12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Blue Lotus Winery, 5151 FM 20
Enjoy delicious tastes of Texas wines and meads (honey wines) made right here in Seguin. The winery has a wide selection of dry, semi-sweet, and sweet wines to choose from for tastings. Stop by to enjoy the afternoon with some of the greatest views around. Tickets for the tasting is $7.00 and can be purchased at the door.
Hats Off to Juan Seguin
6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – 201 S. Austin Street
This annual celebration of our city’s namesake is all about fun. To honor Seguin’s birthday, Oct. 27, everyone is asked to show up wearing a fun, creative hat. The event includes a parade and competition for the most creative hat. Register your hat beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the parade starting at 7:00. After Hats Off, stick around downtown for the second annual Pecan Fest Pub Crawl. Wear your hat all evening long as you go bar to bar.
Pecan Fest Pub Crawl

Meet up with your friends in Central Park and check in at the registration site to get your Pecan Fest Pub Crawl pass. First 200 registered participants to check in at Central Park will receive a complimentary gift.
