Pape’s Pecan and Nutcracker Museum

See over 8,000 nutcrackers from around the world depicting everything from animals, celebrities, cowboys and more.  Also find pecans, pecan candies, pecan pralines, and more for purchase inside the Pape’s Pecan Store.

Healthy Nut Run

The Seguin Education Foundation, Seguin ISD, and the City of Seguin are partnering together to promote community health and wellness as a foundation for student success. 17th Annual Wilson Pottery Show

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Sebastopol House, 704 Zorn Street

The Wilson family’s pottery business is the first known business in Texas owned by a freed slave.  The kiln was located just outside of Seguin.  The 16th Annual Wilson Pottery Show is a great venue to view, purchase or sell collectible 1900 era clay pieces from Guadalupe and surrounding counties.  Collectors from various Texas counties convene annually for great conversation, friendship and sale/trade opportunities.


Pumpkin Patch

9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. – First United Methodist Church, 710 North Austin Street

Take part of a beloved fall tradition and visit the pumpkin patch filled with lots of family activities and photo opportunities.  This is the 22nd year of making memories with pumpkins and the people of Seguin and beyond.


Fire Prevention at the Heritage Museum

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Guadalupe County Heritage Museum, 114 North River Street

Participants can have their picture taken on a vintage fire truck, which will be parked on N. River in front of the Museum.  Photos can then be picked up inside of the museum.  No charge for a 4 x 6 photo, but donations are welcomed.  All proceeds will benefit the Heritage Museum.


Magnolia Hotel Open House Tours

10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Magnolia Hotel, 203 S. Crockett Street

Free guided tour of the Historic Magnolia Hotel. The Magnolia Hotel was built in 1840 by co-founder of Seguin and original Texas Ranger, James Campbell.


Celebrate Seguin’s Heritage and Pecans at the Red Barn

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Texas Agricultural Education and Heritage Center, 390 Cordova Road

The Red Barn – home of the “Real” Big Pecan – will feature the Pecan Museum of Texas. The Pecan Museum displays pecan equipment, examples of pecan wood, pecan memorabilia, examples of pecan varieties, a collection of nutcrackers, the history of the pecan industry. Turkey & Dressing Lunch at 11:30 a.m. ($10.00) prepared by Dixie Grill and concessions will be available. A Pecan Baking Contest for both youth and adult.  Crowning of the Pecan Queen Contest at noon. Entertainment for kids to include games, hay rides, horse rides, a kiddie train, and a photo “op” with the Big Pecan and “Real” big squirrel. You can also participate in the Skat Tournament at 1:00 p.m. Pecans and pecan products and various items in over 80 vendor booths will be on sale. There will be live animals and the historical country village to visit along with Buffalo Solders at the camp site. Free parking and shuttle rides to downtown events. Admission is free. Wet Paint Sale by the Seguin Art League

10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Downtown Seguin, 201 South Austin Street

On Friday, October 26 members of the Seguin Art League will be out all over town painting local landmarks and anything Seguin.  Those paintings will be for sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Shopping and More at Trade Days

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Downtown Seguin, 201 South Austin Street

Over 90 vendors set up around Central Park selling pecan products, arts, crafts, jewelry, plants, clothing, and collectibles. Trade Days will also feature a Beer and Wine Garden in Central Park serving local craft beers and wines. Activity booths for children will be available as well.  Live entertainment by Hard Cover, Ballet Folklorico De La Rosa, and more will perform from the band stand in Central Park all afternoon.


7th Annual Texas Mead Fest

10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Downtown Seguin, 201 South Austin Street

The 7th Annual Texas Mead Festival will be hosted in Central Park during Trade Days. Participating meaderies will include Black’s Fairy Meadery, Blessed Bee Winery, Dancing Bee Winery, Elgin Meadery, Enchanted Manor,  Meridian Hive, Mystic Oak, Rohan Meadery and Texas Mead Works. 29th Annual Juan Seguin Celebration of Life

11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Juan Seguin Burial Site, 789 S. Saunders Street

For Whom the Bell Tolls:
The Seguin, Related Families and Friends will celebrate the life of Juan Seguin at his grave site only. An informal get together, everyone is welcome. Bring with you a small piece of paper on which you have written 1 to 4 names of deceased family members that have gone to their reward in heaven. As each name is read the bell will be rung as a symbol of our remembrance. The sound travels to heaven with our hopes and prayers. There will be a special presentation by the DRT for Carlos Chacon and acceptance by his 4th Grandson Andrew Rivera Luna Sr. Reception to follow at Teatro De Artes, 921 W. New Braunfels St.


Wine Tasting at Blue Lotus Winery and Texas Mead Works

Enjoy delicious tastes of Texas wines and meads (honey wines) made right here in Seguin.  The winery has a wide selection of dry, semi-sweet, and sweet wines to choose from for tastings.  Stop by to enjoy the afternoon with some of the greatest views around.


Get “Crackin” Pecan Shelling Contest

12:30 p.m. – Downtown Seguin, 201 South Austin Street

Think you are the fastest nut cracker in the land? Put your skills to the test by entering our inaugural Get “Crackin” Contest. Each contestant will have 3 (three) minutes to crack as many whole pecan halves as possible. We will provide the pecans and the nut crackers – you provide the skill. Prizes for the top three contestants. You can register online here or in person the day of the event at the information tent between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon). Registration is $5.00 per person to be paid on Saturday at check in.
