18th Annual Wilson Pottery Show

Historic Sebastopol House & Wilson Pottery Museum, 704 Zorn St

The Wilson family’s pottery business is the first known business in Texas owned by a freed slave. The kiln was located just outside of Seguin. This show is a great venue to view, purchase or sell collectible 1900 era clay pieces from Guadalupe and surrounding counties. Collectors from various Texas counties convene annually for great conversation, friendship and safe/trade opportunities.

Magnolia Hotel Open House

Magnolia Hotel, 203 S. Crockett St

Come out and enjoy a FREE open house of the Historic Magnolia Hotel. View the restoration progress and the newly restored AirBnB suite that just opened. The Magnolia Open House allows you to view the original wood frame portion of the hotel built in 1850. It once was a stagecoach stop, saloon, restaurant, 10 room hotel and yes, brothel. Come take a walk back in time and see what the Magnolia Hotel looked like during its glory days! Self-guided tour information will be on hand to walk you through the history of this amazing Texas Landmark. Come in and see a little bit of haunted history!

Fire Prevention at the Heritage Museum

Guadalupe County Heritage Museum, 114 North River St

Participants can have their picture taken on a vintage fire truck, which will be parked on N. River in front of the Museum. Photos can then be picked up inside of the museum. No charge for a 4 x 6 photo, but donations are welcomed. All proceeds will benefit the Heritage Museum.

Celebrate Pecan Fest at the Red Barn

The Big Red Barn, 390 Corova Rd, Seguin, TX 78155

The Big Red Barn– home of the “Real” Big Pecan and Squirrel– will feature the Pecan Museum of Texas. Featuring “Pecan Know How Show and Sale with Swift River Pecans and Tony Swift, this years Grand Champion of the Texas Pecan Show. Turkey & Dressing Lunch including desserts at 11:30 a.m. ($15.00) and concessions will be available. A Pecan Baking Contest for both youth and adult. Entertainment for kids to include games, hay rides, horse rides, a kiddie train, and a photo “op” with the Big Pecan. Pecans and pecan products and various items will be on sale throughout the grounds. Enter your pecan baked goods in the Pecan Bake Off, more information on the Bake Off is here. There will be live animals and the historical country village to visit. Explore Archery for ages 8 and up and a Hay Dive for Pecans. Free parking and shuttle rides to downtown events. Theatro De Artes De Juan Seguin is a pioneering cultural arts center founded right here in Seguin in 1982. Our mission includes promoting a better understanding of the Mexican-American people through the arts. The demographics of Seguin are such that organizations such as ours remain a vital part of the Mexican-American and Tejano heritage of not only Seguin but Central Texas. Everything will be provided at this workshop except for tables and chairs so that the youth can learn several unique arts and crafts while enjoying the rest of what Pecan Fest has to offer.
